When looking for photographers in RI or elsewhere, there are common questions that always come up. So for your convenience, I’ve rounded up the most often asked questions and answered them for you!
What is your booking process? Do I have to mail a ton of stuff back and forth?
No! The entire booking process is done online! After we connect I will send you a proposal. There, you can choose your package, enter your info, sign your contract and pay the deposit. Super easy and can be completed in about 10 minutes!
We’ve chatted but I’m still looking at other photographers, will you hold my date?
I really wish that I could but it is studio policy that we operate on a first come first serve basis. This gives all couples equal opportunity, especially on popular dates.
How many weddings do you shoot a year?
I try not to take on more than 20 weddings a year. This allows me to focus and give my couples 100%.
Do you serve LGBTQ+ couples?
Of course!! I am a Certified Inclusive Professional.
Do you have fees associated with travel?
Yes, but honestly it very rarely comes up. I’m happy to travel as much as 2 hours from Coventry, RI for a wedding before fees even come into the picture. We travel all over for weddings and offer fair rates for travel.
How would you describe your style?
I have a documentary/ photojournalistic approach to photographing weddings. I let the day unfold how it will without interfering too much. The idea of stopping a couple during their first dance to have them pose makes me ill. During formals and your romantic couple photos, however, I will step in and help out with posing and prompts. I know that everyone wants to look their best!
I hear all these terms thrown around, light and airy, dark and mood. What are you?
I have an editing style that stays close to the natural colors of the day. This allows for timeless photos that will never look dated. I love to keep photos bright and colorful with some drama thrown in!
Are you insured and can you provide a certificate to the venue?
Yes! All professional wedding photographers in RI should carry insurance.
What kind of gear do you use?
I shoot with Canon cameras! I love Canon R6’s. They serve me well and are serviced yearly to make sure they are always in perfect working order.
How long have you been in business?
I started photographing at weddings in 2009. I second shot for a number of years honing my craft and then started shooting weddings on my own. In total? Over 150 easily at this point.
What happens if you can’t make it to my wedding?
Then I am in a world of trouble and please send help!!! Seriously though, in 10 years I have never missed a wedding (this includes me shooting while being 36 weeks pregnant!). Should something crazy happen though, I am part of a network of amazing photographers in RI that I would reach out to immediately to find coverage for you.
