Rosecliff Mansion | Newport, RI
I was lucky enough to spend two days with Nicole and Binyam for their wedding. The weekend started with family at their rehearsal dinner in Jamestown. Then Sunday we started the day in Newport. Nicole got ready at The Vanderbilt in Newport and Binyam got ready at a private home in Jamestown. Nicole and Binyam met for their first look at the Rosecliff Mansion, Newport, RI, where they had their ceremony and reception! There are a few very pretty gardens at Rosecliff but it was so chilly!! We use the front garden for a quick first look and a few romantic pictures. Then we ran inside to get warm.
The Rosecliff is a great location because as well as a beautiful exterior they have amazing spots for photos inside too! My favorite spot for family formals is the grand staircase. It is so classy and large that it can fit everyone. This is great because Nicole and Binyam had a huge family! Family formals were more of a challenge than they usually are at this wedding because almost no one was from the United States. Their families were from all over the world. Including Persia and Ethiopia! With lots of hand gesturing though we made it work!
The whole affair had an Art Deco, 1920s flair that was just perfect! I can’t wait to shoot at The Rosecliff again. It’s like falling back in time in all the best ways.
