A rainy day didn’t stop Giselle and Austin from having a beautiful wedding at The Barnes at Wesleyan Hills!
This was my first time getting to photograph at The Barnes and, despite the rainy day, as soon as I walked in I couldn’t be happier! It is such a gorgeous and unique space! Giselle was getting ready and we took a few photos pre-first look because she couldn’t wait to see her groom! We chose to do the first look near a wall of bistro lights which gave this amazing twinkle light effect! We did the formals there too because we couldn’t get enough! After some quick romantics of this lovely couple it was time for their ceremony. Backlit by huge windows looking out into the bright green grounds Giselle and Austin said their I do’s and had their first kiss!
During cocktail hour, the staff efficiently and quickly changed the room from ceremony to reception. We got to see the best view of the room from upstairs on the balcony. Austin and Giselle came upstairs for the view and a few more photos too!
Then the party really started! It wasnt just their wedding day butalso Cinco de Mayo so of course there was a piñata! I’m not sure who was more excited though, the kids or the adults! After a few swings of the baton, candy exploded everywhere. Giselle and Austin braved the rain and snuck outside with me for some amazing nighttime photos and then ran back in to be serenaded by their cousins in true family tradition! I had so much fun and I wish them all the best with their marriage and beautiful family!
